Saturday night, March 1st at 8:00 pm, in St. Botolph Hall at the New England Conservatory in Boston.

The concert will celebrate the music I’ve composed and the fine musicians I’ve come to know musically and personally while studying these past two years in Boston.

The first half will feature the Nick Grondin Group—a quintet which will perform a handful of my modern jazz and flamenco influenced compositions. For the second half, I’ll conduct a hand-picked jazz orchestra to perform the big band compositions I’ve written while at NEC. Here is your chance to hear them while experiencing the full sound and timbral colors of a live jazz orchestra!

The concert is FREE and open to the public! As you can probably guess, I have been preparing for a very long time. It should be a wonderful evening, with reception to follow. I hope you can join me and the other twenty-three musicians!

Nick wins ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award for his piece “Mingus” for jazz orchestra.

The prize includes a cash prize, publicity by ASCAP, and an awards ceremony at Lincoln Center in New York in June.
